JETS, the expanding business aviation MRO, owned by the 328 Group, has announced the promotion of Phil Grey to Continuing Airworthiness, Planning and Technical Services Manager for its Bournemouth and London Biggin Hill facilities, effective immediately. Since 2008 Phil has held the position of Continuing Airworthiness Manager, Bournemouth responsible for EASA Part M and Sub Parts G and I requirements for the company's growing range of MRO capabilities.
In his newly expanded role covering both JETS' facilities, he will be responsible for all aspects of technical services and planning in relation to EASA Part 145 operations. He will manage the technical and planning staff across both locations, reporting directly to JETS Managing Director, Alan Barnes.
Phil brings 35 years' professional, aviation experience to the role with particular expertise in technical services and planning. Following a 22 year career in the Royal Navy where he was responsible for helicopter and aircraft maintenance, Phil gained further highly relevant technical and engineering experience at companies including Signature, GKN Westland Helicopters and Osprey Aviation. Prior to joining JETS, he was Planning/Technical Services Manager at NetJets based at RAF Northolt.
Commenting on his new position, Phil Grey said: "I am very pleased to be expanding my role at JETS and welcome the opportunity to transfer my skills and experience to further develop the technical services and planning departments at JETS Biggin Hill."
Alan Barnes, JETS Group Managing Director added: "We are very pleased to confirm Phil's new appointment. He brings an enormous amount of skill and experience to this newly expanded role. He has thoroughly proved himself at JETS Bournemouth and he will undoubtedly now make his mark at Biggin Hill as well."
Earlier this year, 328 Group split its two primary areas of expertise '328' and 'JETS' in a move to accommodate its increasing portfolio of interior manufacture and design work and its expansion of maintenance expertise under the JETS brand, following the acquisition of the new maintenance facility at London Biggin Hill Airport.
JETS Engineering Technical Support was established in October 2004, initially to provide MRO services to Hawker 125s. Today JETS boasts a broad range of engineering capabilities in aircraft maintenance, avionics installation, refurbishment, exterior painting, Part M services and hangarage. Under its EASA Part-145 approvals, JETS carries out scheduled base maintenance and defect rectification, through minor and major modification embodiment to full cabin interior refurbishment in conjunction with its sister company 328 based in Germany, a full EASA Part 21G level 1A (Design) and Part 21J (Manufacture) approved company.
