C.I. Travel Group introduced the regular service from London Oxford in 2009 marking the first commercial route at the airport for 20 years until its cessation last summer. Andi Pargeter, Managing Director at London Oxford Airport comments: "We're thrilled that London Oxford Airport is able to welcome the return of the Jersey service, and are sure that a great number of people in our catchment who were regular, repeat customers with the previous services will also be excited by the news."
The route will appeal to residents in Oxfordshire, the South Midlands and the north western Home Counties who can now conveniently fly from Oxford without the hassle of going to Birmingham or one of the London airports. Some five million people live within an hour's drive of the airport, which is close to the M40, A34, A40 and A44 road networks. Equally, the convenient lunchtime departure will enable passengers to arrive in Jersey in plenty of time to enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the beach and dinner at one of the Island's fine restaurants.
Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director of Jersey-based C. I. Travel Group added: "We are delighted to be able to re-introduce our popular summer air route from Oxford to Jersey. Many of our clients missed the stress-free travel opportunity that the route provides, with just a 100 metre walk from the terminal entrance to the aircraft steps."
Jersey flights from London Oxford Airport for 2014 will operate with seat only and inclusive holidays being sold exclusively by C.I. Travel Group's well-established consumer brands including Airways Holidays and Jerseytravel.com. Bookings can be made online from Wednesday at www.jerseytravel.com.or through local travel agents The route will also be marketed to hoteliers in Jersey who may wish to offer their Oxfordshire-based clients a direct flight to the Island.
London Oxford Airport is wholly owned by the Reuben Brothers. Their investment activities include private equity, real estate ownership and development, which are predominantly based in the United Kingdom and Europe. Businesses include shopping centres, mixed use commercial real estate, data centres, race courses, public houses, hotels and other development projects. At the end of February 2012 the Reubens purchased the London Heliport at London Battersea, the UK's only CAA licensed heliport. The Heliport is a 22-minute helicopter ride from London Oxford Airport. London Oxford Airport has been the fastest growing airport for private business aviation in the United Kingdom over the last five years and aspires to be recognised as a new option for commercial airline services within the Thames Valley region, North West of London.
