Air Astana, the Kazakhstan flag carrier, is celebrating triple success at the 2014 Skytrax World Airline Awards, with a 4 Star rating, Best Airline Central Asia / India and Best Airline Staff Service Central Asia / India being achieved for the third successive year. The awards ceremony took place at the UK's Farnborough Airshow today.
The World Airline Awards are the primary benchmarking tool for Passenger Satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world, delivering a unique survey format based on analysis of business and leisure travellers, across all cabin travel types (First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy class).
Air travellers were surveyed by telephone, questionnaires and online about their experiences with airlines on the ground and in the air over a 10 month period. The survey measured passenger satisfaction across a wide range of performance indicators of airline front-line product and service, including check-in, boarding, onboard seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, in-flight entertainment and staff service. The survey covered over 200 airlines, from the largest international airlines to smaller domestic carriers.
"I'm naturally delighted that Air Astana's total dedication to providing the very highest standards of passenger service has once again resulted in a triple success at this year's Skytrax World Airlines Awards," said Peter Foster, President of Air Astana. "Every one of our 4,000 staff can be proud of their efforts to ensure that Air Astana remains the leading carrier from Central Asia."
Air Astana is a joint venture between Kazakhstan's national wealth fund Samruk Kazyna and BAE Systems, with respective shares of 51% and 49%.
