Rockwell Collins announced that Scotland's Aberdeen International Airport has signed an agreement to install the company's ARINC vMUSE™ Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) workstations throughout the airport.
The ARINC vMUSE system will enable Aberdeen International Airport to support multiple airline check-in applications running concurrently on the same computer workstation, allowing the airport and airlines to reduce costs and increase flexibility while processing passengers faster and more efficiently.
"This new system means that different airlines can use the same desks," explained Andrew Mutch, Airport Head of IT. "It increases our flexibility and means that in a growing airport we can be much more reactive to demand than the previous system allowed for. As a result this will provide real benefits for our customer service provision, it will help to manage queues and deliver a more integrated product."
Won in a highly competitive bidding process, this agreement is in addition to an award Rockwell Collins won earlier this year for ARINC AviNet® Airport high-performance network services, as well as the installation and integration of common use self service (CUSS) kiosks at the airport.
"We've been providing airport solutions in Scotland for almost ten years," said Michael DiGeorge, vice president of international and global airports for Rockwell Collins. "This win is another example of our commitment to invest and grow our business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa."
