Geneva, Switzerland / 20 May, 2015 - Satcom Direct will promote its new SkyStream channel bonding and aggregation service during EBACE 2015, booth D051 and static display 16. Delegates will learn how the service, powered by the company's exclusive Satcom Direct Router (SDRTM), provides a significant upgrade in airborne data speeds.
Satcom Direct's SkyStream channel bonding and aggregation technology allows customers to combine multiple streaming channels of Inmarsat Swiftbroadband to achieve higher data rates for real-time communications applications. The technology embedded in the SDR enables customers to bond two to four channels of service. This provides a larger data pipe to facilitate high-data-rate applications like video conference and streaming video.
"People expect their smartphones, tablets and laptops to work on their aircraft just like they would on the ground, and Satcom Direct is committed to providing that experience," said Ken Bantoft, vice president of technologies and development "SkyStream lets connectivity devices work globally at the fastest speeds possible."
SkyStream can deliver speeds of up to 1.4mbps of throughput for aircraft with four-channel systems. The aircraft must be equipped with the SDR, SkyStream software key and SwiftBroadband satellite service.
