Aura Aviation, the UK-headquartered aviation consultancy and transaction business, has stepped into the New Year with an expanded team. Stephen Mitchell has been appointed as Sales Director for Aura Aviation's new rotary division, bolstering its existing fixed wing sales division, which operates under the JetBrokers name.
Aura has already been successful in advising on, and transacting a number of rotary products and Stephen will be responsible for building on the existing business to create a dedicated rotary sales division within the company. Using his extensive network of contacts he will focus on sourcing and transacting business at an international level.
"The rotary market is anticipated to grow in 2016. With regulatory changes in China, and the continued growth of the Asia Pacific region's aviation sector, it's a great time to be developing the rotary business. I'm delighted to have the opportunity to be a part of Aura's success in this field," he said. Sales activity will focus on the utilitarian market, providing expertise to the emergency, agricultural and the private/corporate market. The recent and imminent introduction of new products by the major manufacturers is expected to bring new business from all market sectors.
Stephen Mitchell is well suited to the position calling on two decades of experience in civil aviation sales. Following 12 years' service in the Royal Air Force he launched a career in helicopter sales specialising in transacting Robinson and AgustaWestland machines. With his additional experience in fixed wing sales he has a deep understanding of how the fixed wing and rotary markets complement each other.
John Merry, CEO of Aura Aviation commented: "At Aura Aviation we aim to give our customers a full range of consultancy options that are tailored to each of their specific needs. JetBrokers offers a full suite of tailored transaction services, underpinned by our team of experts and with Steve's appointment we are providing a further string to our knowledge bow. Supporting the aircraft brokers the Aura team can also provide further post transaction services including advice about aviation insurance, aircraft management, in addition to tailored consultancy. "The combined team recognises that in this industry one size does not fit all. I'm delighted that we have secured Steve to work with us and look forward to a busy year ahead."
