Aeronexus marks first birthday of successful game-changer charters with its VIP B767-300ER

Aeronexus, an established leader in the wide-body VIP air charter market, is celebrating the first anniversary of its Boeing 767-300ER operations.

Since founders Gavin Harrison and Sven Petersen introduced the B767-300ER to the Aeronexus fleet in February 2016, the aircraft has accomplished a busy year of diverse charter activity, maximising full usage of its worldwide AOC - a status the company has enjoyed since 2002.

This week the 767 will conclude a five-week Asia Pacific tour with the rock band Guns N' Roses, with its exterior resplendent in a bespoke livery for the occasion (see photos attached).  The tour itinerary has seen the B767-300ER visit Tokyo, Wellington, Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Singapore and Bangkok. The final date will see the aircraft arrive into Dubai World Central (at the Dubai South FBO) before returning to its home at London Stansted Airport on 2 March 2017. Aeronexus worked closely with charter broker Premier Aviation (UK) to ensure every sector and component of the trip went smoothly.

Before the B767-300ER started revenue service with Aeronexus, the company selected Starling Aerospace to undertake a major cabin refurbishment project, which saw the aircraft completely stripped, refurbished and refitted with 96 lie-flat Sicma Zodiac seats in a six-abreast layout. Upholstered with cream leather, each seat now offers a 73-inch seat pitch and in-seat power for client's laptops, phones and tablets.

During this project an AdonisOne in-flight entertainment system was installed, enabling passengers to watch a selection of more than 90 movies, listen to music, read magazines and follow their flight on the live route map - all using their personal electronic devices.

Furthermore, last month Starling Aerospace manufactured and installed a divan in response to customer requests which converts to a comfortable bed in a discreet, divided area to the rear of the forward cabin. This area has its own private washroom facilities, allowing principal clients the utmost privacy to hold meetings, work or sleep.

Clients which have enjoyed the Aeronexus B767-300ER's luxury offering over the past 12 months include Captain's Choice, which chartered the aircraft for two 23-day tours of South America one from the UK and one from Sydney; Liverpool Football Club, which undertook an 18-day tour of the USA; and Manchester United FC, which chartered the aircraft to fly to Odessa, Russia.

"Client response to the Aeronexus offering has been extremely positive," explained Gareth Evans, Head of Sales and Marketing for Aeronexus. "These past 12 months, our B767-300ER has flown to numerous new destinations, including Buenos Aires, Auckland and Wellington.  This year, some more exciting assignments are coming up, including charters to the Far East and USA for Premiership football teams, plus a 23 day tour of South America, Cuba and the Falkland Islands on behalf of Prestige Holidays.

We attribute this success to our attention to detail and proven experience in the wide-body market, having incorporated our first B767 model in 2010."

Based at the 24/7 Diamond Hangar at London Stansted since its arrival into service, the B67-300ER is perfectly located to serve the needs of Aeronexus' customers. Some 60% of the company's flying originates from the London area, with around 20% operating out of Manchester and Liverpool and the remaining 20% from elsewhere in Europe.

The new location has also helped yield strong new partnerships. For example, Aeronexus has teamed up with its Diamond Hangar neighbour, FlightWorx, which now deals with all the ground handling and transport logistics - including permit arrangements - for the aircraft and its 11-strong crew.  "We have some great expertise we can call on at the Diamond Hangar covering operations, catering and executive handling," Evans said.

About Aeronexus:

Aeronexus was first incorporated in 2001 when it obtained a worldwide AOC from the South African Civil Aviation Authority.  The business started out managing a Presidential Boeing 727 on behalf of a Head of State. In January 2010 it expanded its operations to include two B767-200ER aircraft, one in all-economy 220 seats and one in 100 all lie-flat seat configuration.  In late 2012 Aeronexus relocated their 100 seat VIP Boeing 767-200ER to the UK to meet growing demand in the European long-haul VIP market.

The VIP Boeing 767-200ER was replaced by a VIP Boeing 767-300ER in late 2015 offering more space and comfort as well as an increased 6,500 nm range, enabling a London to Rio non-stop.  The aircraft was fully refurbished in early 2016 and fitted with all-leather first class lie-flat setting for 96 passengers and featuring a discreet and a private area at the front of the cabin with a couch that converts to a comfortable bed.  Each seat offers a power point.

Aeronexus founders and owners Gavin Harrison and Sven Petersen, have each enjoyed a 30-year career in aerospace.  Former aircraft engineers, they hold ATP Pilot Licenses and have flown for a wide range of airlines over the decades garnering valuable experience in all types of operations. Today they continue to occasionally fly as captains, supported by a dedicated operations team.
