Mente Group CEO Brian Proctor is the new Chairman of the National Aircraft Resale Association (NARA).
The announcement follows the fall membership meeting, which coincided with the recent annual NBAA-BACE event in Las Vegas where nominations for the 2018 Board of Directors and Products & Services Member Advisory Council were aired.
In his new role, Brian will maintain overall responsibility for the expanding Association, which embraces selected NARA-certified aircraft sales and brokerage businesses, together with aircraft product and service companies.
Brian's aim is to create a competitive advantage for members and their customers by leveraging NARA's collective knowledge and resources and continuing to ensure that members abide by the association's 14-point Code of Ethics which provides standards of business conduct regarding business aircraft transactions.
"I am looking forward to working closely with the new board members as we aim to elevate the brokerage profession and better position NARA members as industry leaders for the future," commented Brian Proctor. "The pre-owned business aircraft market is complex and buyers need more access to professionals they can trust to help navigate through the brokerage and acquisition processes."
"Our team of 100 NARA Certified Broker/Dealers and Products & Services Members are the most qualified to provide this valuable service," Brian continued.
Brian's enhanced involvement with NARA is another endorsement of his business aviation expertise. With a BA degree in International Studies in Politics and Diplomacy from the University of Richmond and an MBA from Southern Methodist University, he has served the industry for more than 15 years and been involved in over $5 billion in aircraft transactions and over $6 billion in aviation business planning.
Mente Group enjoyed its strongest NBAA-BACE ever. It showcased three aircraft in the static display - a Pilatus PC-12NG; Gulfstream G200 and Bombardier Challenger 300. "The strengthened presence underlined what has been a strong year for us," said Proctor.
However, it is the company's client advisory work that is growing in significance, now accounting for 50% of its business.
Providing impartial asset advisory services, a newly announced aviation personnel recruitment and pilot placement program and most recently, aircraft completions consultancy expertise, with a new, value added collaboration, E-First/White Glove, with US specialist interiors company RRAD Design, Mente Group continues to develop and strengthen the company's offerings to the industry.
