Stewart Cordner, Sales Director for Pitch Aircraft Seating unveiled the new PF2000 to great acclaim at last week's Aircraft Interiors Expo held in Hamburg. The seat, which has been designed for the high-density, single-aisle economy class retrofit market was well received by conference delegates looking for innovative ideas to improve passenger experience and reduce costs.
"We had an incredibly successful show with serious interest from a significant number of international airlines. We even received a written RFP from a major name which speaks volumes about the reception," said Cordner. "The stylish form which follows ergonomic shapes taken from sports car design, the use of lightweight composite materials reducing a triple unit to just 25kg and the planned implementation of automotive production techniques that will significantly reduce lead times are all major benefits that the airlines value," added Cordner.
The PF2000 seat has already successfully passed an indicative 16g dynamic test and is on target to complete certification by the third quarter of this year whilst production by Magna the automotive production specialists, is expected to begin in the last quarter.
