Following the news that BMI baby will be stopping its service from East Midlands to Jersey on 9th September, Manx2.com is stepping in to offer an attractive alternative.
Any passengers who were booked to travel on this route after 9th September are being offered the opportunity to rebook their tickets on Manx2.com's new Oxford to Jersey route for £1 less than they originally paid for an East Midlands to Jersey ticket with BMI baby.
Manx2.com Managing Director, David Buck, said: 'It's obviously disappointing that Jersey is losing a main carrier like BMI baby but perhaps understandable in these tough economic times. As an island based company, Manx2 understand the need to maximise access and maintain connectivity wherever possible and we are very keen to ensure that no one has to cancel their travel plans.
'We will be opening a new route from Jersey to Oxford and the Midlands next week which we hope will fill some of the gap and we'll certainly be offering some "baby" prices. Oxford's award-winning airport boasts a state-of-the-art new passenger terminal with convenient and affordable parking. It offers good access to the Midlands and Heathrow from the M40 motorway and with a new local rail station at Kidlington opening early in 2013 providing access to the mainline rail network.
Daily flights commence next Tuesday (8th May) and will depart Jersey at 1350, arriving in London Oxford just one hour later. Oxford departures will be at 12:25, arriving on the Island at 13:30. The service, operated by a British Aerospace Jetstream 31 aircraft, will also connect directly through Oxford on to Manx2's Isle of Man service.
To re-book tickets, passengers should email their booking confirmation to reservations@manx2.com who will handle all necessary arrangements.
