Cannes AirShow, the only General Aviation Exhibition in France, will open its doors for the sixth year running and welcomes debut appearance from Cirrus SR22T Porsche.
With an expected 10,000 visitors one of the main highlights of this year's show will be the international debut and premiere of the Cirrus SR22T Porsche when it will be on display to the industry for the first time in Cannes. The new model will be on show alongside over 100 aircraft on the static display.
A wide selection of aircraft ranging from ultra-light machines through to business jets, and helicopters, from all the major European and international manufacturers will also be on show. This year's line-up includes Dassault Aviation - also taking the opportunity to exhibit for the first time - Cessna, Embraer Executive Jets, Piper Aircraft, Piaggio Aero, Daher-Socata, Hawker-Beechcraft, Diamond Aircraft, Pilatus, Tecnam, Robinson, and many more.A full conference programme will run in parallel during the 3 days and covers various general aviation topics including regulation, future strategy, flight planning, security and many others.
A number of flight schools intend to unravel the mysteries of the aviation sector for visitors and will explain the variety of career prospects within the aviation community. The "Brevet d'initiation Aéronautique," BIA, a diploma awarded to students aiming to be a pilot, will be presented on Saturday morning to 300 students. The presentation confirms the importance of the show to on-going aviation education.
Cannes AirShow is also an important platform for those presenting products, services and equipment, from the aeronautics sector. Companies such as Bose, Lightspeed, Jeppesen and others recognise the benefit of having a relaxed environment in which to present their services and products. One of the singular factors of the Cannes AirShow, the "Brokerage Market Area" also provides the opportunity for aircraft and helicopters owners to market their machines. In previous years up to 70% of the pre-owned aircraft exhibited have been sold as the show provides a unique opportunity to meet potential private buyers.
"The visitors to Cannes AirShow represent the breadth of aviation and the exhibitors match this variety. There is no other general aviation exhibition in France or in the South of Europe that has as much for aviation professionals and enthusiasts. It provides the perfect networking opportunity for all those involved to find out more about the latest products, news and trends," said Didier Mary, the event organiser.
Strengthening its position in the General Aviation market Cannes AirShow has also formed significant partnerships with a number of industry organisations including that GIPAG (The French group representing professionals from the General Aviation industry), AOPA France (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) and FFA (The French Aeronautics Federation) which will all have a strong presence throughout the show.
