Gama, the global business aviation and services group, today announced that the United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority ('UAE GCAA') has awarded Gama Support Services FZE UAE CAR 145 Approval, permitting it to undertake Line Maintenance on Challenger 604 and 605 business jets and King Air B300 turboprop aircraft.
Gama's expansion of its services at its Sharjah International Airport business aviation hub continues apace with the announcement today of the award to Gama Support Services FZE ('GSS FZE') of UAE GCAA CAR Part 145 Approval, initially supporting Challenger and King Air operations.
This builds on the recent achievement of GSS FZE's sister company, Gama Aviation FZE, becoming one of the first UAE based business jet operators to achieve CAR Part M Maintenance Management Approval and the creation of a new and exclusive VIP FBO (Fixed Base Operation) at Sharjah International Airport earlier this year.
Future investment by Gama at Sharjah International Airport includes the further development hangar facilities, additional maintenance approvals and an increase in the number of locally employed engineers, all headed by Oliver Walters, Gama's Engineering Manager.
"We are delighted that the UAE GCAA has recognised Gama's commitment to investing, supporting and growing business aviation services in the region," said Dave Edwards, Managing Director, Gama Aviation FZE. "Our Sharjah FBO has established itself as a 'stress-free' gateway for business and private visitors to Sharjah, Dubai and the Northern Emirates and the first choice technical stop for business jet operators through the Middle East. I know our customers will appreciate the additional maintenance and management services we have been approved to provide."
Gama is a global business aviation services organization, founded in 1983 in the UK by Marwan Khalek and Stephen Wright.
Gama employs over 400 personnel and operates over 80 business aircraft around the globe and over 30 operating bases across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.
Gama Group is headquartered at Farnborough Airport in the UK, with its American headquarters in Stratford, CT, its Middle East and North Africa headquarters at Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and its Asian headquarters in Hong Kong.
The group's companies and affiliates hold EU-OPS, FAA Part 135 and UAE GCAA Charter Certificates, EASA, FAA and GCAA Part 145 Maintenance Approvals, EASA Part 21 Design and Manufacture Approvals and offer business aircraft charter, management, FBO, maintenance, valeting and aviation software services.
Recent expansion of services have included the exclusive provision of executive aircraft ground services at Sharjah International Airport, UAE and the establishment of Gama Engineering Ltd, affording fixed and rotor wing aircraft operators a comprehensive design, manufacturing, certification, maintenance, repair, overhaul and modification service at Fairoaks Airport, UK. Gama's most recent acquisition Ronaldson Airmotive is fully EASA Part 145 certified for the provision of engine and component overhaul services.
