Gama Group, the global business aviation services provider, today announces the appointment of Oliver Hewson as Commercial Manager, Gama Aviation FZE, with the task of further developing its significant growth throughout the MENA region.
Oliver joined Gama Aviation's UAE-based team in 2009 to help establish Gama's UAE Air Operators Certificate and set up the regional charter sales division. Born and raised in the UAE, Oliver has significant experience in business development and sales, including a year in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia working for a multinational corporation.
In the last 12 months Gama has seen significant growth in all their regional business components including aircraft management, executive handling at Gama's Sharjah Airport Fixed Base Operation (FBO), along with the establishment of UAE GCAA- approved maintenance facilities and the opening of Gama's first base in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As Commercial Manager, Oliver will expand his current role which sees him supporting not only Gama's charter and management clients, but other operators and aircraft owners using Gama's exclusive facilities in Sharjah. Oliver will be responsible for identifying further opportunities within the Middle East/North Africa marketplace for Gama's various business units, generating new contracts and sustaining high levels of customer service and support.
In his new role Oliver will report directly to Gama's General Manager, Richard Lineveldt.

New operating bases include Geneva, Abu Dhabi and Jeddah. Transport Canada recently awarded Gama Aviation a Foreign Air Operator's Certificate, enabling Gama to operate flights to, from and within Canada.
