Titan Airways, the London Stansted-based, specialist charter airline is close to completing a major refurbishment of its Boeing 757 all business class interior to deliver added comfort and luxury to its growing clientele. It has enlisted the help of Manchester, UK based aircraft interior specialists, Airline Services Ltd for the work, in a contract worth over £400,000.
ASL, a leading supplier of aircraft interior and ramp presentation services, which is exhibiting at the Aircraft Interiors Show 2013 in Hamburg this week, is overhauling the seats with the fitting of new seat foams. It is also updating the upholstery in new pale grey, soft leather. The modifications are scheduled for completion this month (April).
The refurbishment includes an electrical modification and wiring installation enabling each seat to feature a convenient selection of two and three pin power supply outlets and USB ports. The in-seat power system, supplied by Astronics, a leading provider of advanced technologies to the aerospace industry, will enable passengers to run and recharge electronic devices such as lap tops, tablets and phones whilst in flight.
The all business class configuration of Titan's 757 aircraft offers 76 and 80 seat options with both configurations giving passengers a generous 50 inch seat pitch and full recline at each row.
The 76 seat configuration allows a versatile and highly popular double club arrangement at the front of the cabin. The new business class seats will also be used in the 757's split class configuration, offering 40 business class seats with a 41 inch pitch at the front of the aircraft and either 108 or 118 economy class seats at a 31 inch pitch in the main cabin.
"We are happy to be working on this project, to bring an enhanced level of comfort and convenience to clients using our business class interior, with Airline Services Ltd. We have worked with ASL on a number of projects and trust them to deliver the high standard of service we expect," said Alastair Kiernan, Commercial Director.
In addition to the Boeing 757 business class, Titan's fleet also includes a Boeing 737 with a 44 seat full business class option and a six seat Citation CJ2+ which is also a popular choice for business travellers.
